How we work

Plain English

If it needs a glossary, we rewrite it. You should leave knowing what the thing does, what it costs and when not to trust it.

No favorite vendor

We use Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, local models and more, and we teach you how to choose. The day you rely on one company is the day you stop shopping around.

Problem first

We start with what's eating your week, not with a product. Sometimes the honest answer is a spreadsheet, and we'll say so.

In the room

Classes are small and in person in the Cedar Valley. You work on your own laptop, on your own questions, with someone next to you.

Giving back

A fair start for kids aging out of foster care

Every year, young Iowans turn 18 and leave foster care, many with no family to fall back on. A car to get to work, a first month's rent, a security deposit: these decide whether they land on their feet. As Iowa AI grows, a share of what we earn will go toward that fair start.

PledgeWe'll name the fund and the share when it opens. We're aiming for 2027.

The founder

Hi, I'm Alex.

Iowa AI is a small company with a simple idea: AI should be useful to regular people and small businesses here, not just to big tech on the coasts.

As a kid I built macros and auto-clickers for RuneScape. I didn't know it yet, but I was learning to automate: take something tedious and get a computer to do it. When AI arrived, that same habit got ten times more powerful.

I'm a first-generation business owner. I build software with AI every day, set up automations for a local real estate agent, and I'm starting small, hands-on classes around the Cedar Valley this winter. When you work with Iowa AI, you work with me.
